About Gwyn
I have a confession to make. Yes, I was that kid who shot her hand into the air so the teacher would pick her to diagram the sentence in AP English. Why? I actually love grammar. Let's face it. I've always been one of those people who plays Spot the Error while reading. Lucky for me, in 2012 I found a job that pays me to do that, and I've been happily proofreading ever since. I don't do this job because I need it; I do it because I want it.
But wait! There's more! I am also a writer. What does that mean for you? It means I get it. I know how much your words mean to you. I know what you're trying to say. And I know how much you'd rather keep writing instead of proofreading your last manuscript so you can submit it at its best. Let me help you.
Don't worry. I don't just proofread books. If you wrote it--be it a book chapter, blog, newsletter, website, greeting card, church program, or menu entry--it could benefit from a second set of eyes before you put it out there in public. I'm that thorough, knowledgeable, highly detail-oriented set of eyes you need.
Who am I? (I mean besides that quiet girl who represented the school at the county spelling bee in sixth grade.) Here's the short version. Outside of reading and writing, I enjoy steampunk, ukulele, hula, and belly dance. You can often find me at the zoo, in costume, or hanging out with puppets. So, yes, I have experience with all sorts of things, which makes me good at finding unusual errors. I am currently in Iowa and have lived in the Midwest most of my life, but my heart requires regular trips to the ocean. My coworkers include a Maine coon cat, a basset hound, and a lineolated parakeet, who answers to Emmet.
